Good day Cuties! I thought that some of you may be interested in making an XXXLG Tote for your quilts (I know some of you quilt) or beach supplies, etc anything you may possibly need a tote this big size for. That being said, I have made a picture tutorial that I hope you can use. Let me know if I have forgotten a step, or if you need any help, I'm always here.
You should be able to make this in one afternoon. I use Oly Fun or Oly cloth as pictured here, for many reasons. It is not bulky and heavy, therefore you can fold it up to store very easily. It does not fray or ravel, so you don't have to edge finish seam allowances. No need for lining. Lastly, it is economical because for a bag this size other fabrics would be expensive. When I bought these rolls of 30 inch x 3 yards at Walmart, I got them for $2 a roll on clearance. Last I checked they were $5.
Between step 3 and 4 you should know but I forgot to write:
'Piece your 4 inch strips together, to make two 78 inch long pieces Then fold and sew straps.'
#6 sew both front and back pieces with straps like this
#9 & 10-Read both first- I forgot to type in pic that my side seams are also top stitched down from the inside. HOWEVER, you need to check which way side seam will meet your bottom seam before top stitching so seams will be opposite and nest nicely, when sewing corners.
If you make one, please let me know if you had any problems ( or not) with my directions.
Have a nice day my friends-As always love-Toogie
