Hi Cuties,
We have had a wonderful time so far in Switzerland and now back in Milano. It was a hectic weekend last weekend as it was the Monza Car race where there were thousands of rev heads here for the race. This week it's Fashion week in Milan and the traffic today was amazing!
Trev and I came to Rome a few years ago and couldn't get over the crazy drivers, but Milano is just as crazy.
Anyway, it's been glorious weather, except for yesterday when it was cloudy. We went to Lake Como and took a train to Como from Milan and then a ferry on the lake to Bellagio (fast hydrofoil Ferry over) and a slow one coming back to Como. We left in the morning and got back last night around 6.00 - very weary and had dinner at 7.30 and almost fell into bed after that.
Today we've been on a hop on hop off bus touring the city more thoroughly and visited the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie where you could view "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci, except nobody told us that you had to book ahead! Trev walked calmly over to the ticket office to be told that the viewing of the painting is booked out till the end of October!!!!!!!!! So we walked back to the Duomo and caught a bus back to the Milan train station and had lunch, by the time we finished it was nearly 3.00pm so another long day.
Tomorrow we are off to Genoa leaving by train about 8.10am!
1. Stunning view from Bellagio looking towards mountain ranges on Lake Como.
2. These little cars "Smart Cars" made by Mercedes Benz are all over Italy. I know they are not made anymore for America.
3. Stunning homes built right down to the water line on pure rock!
4. Trev took this photo of me in front of the Duomo this morning and a man walked up to give me corn, of course the Pigeons went berserk. You then have to give the man some Euro!!!!!!!!
5. View inside the Santa Maria delle Grazie
6. Santa Maria delle Grazie outside view.
I've had to reduce the size of these pictures are they were too high in MB's.
