Good morning Cuties, we've had an amazing time here in the South Tyrol township of Bressanone/Brixen.

Tomorrow we leave from here for Verona (Rome and Juliet fame).
I've added some beautiful pictures of the amazing Franzensfeste Fortress which is a fortress situated in the village of Franzensfeste, in South Tyrol. As we haven't a car, we have caught buses everywhere and boy are they a hairy ride! They get up to speeds around these winding, narrow roads that would make your hair stand on end!
Anyway, we've seen some amazing places, had the most incredible meals here at the Hotel Fischer up on the top of the valley and walked our legs off.
Hope to send some more pictures next week when we are in Verona and then on to Singapore. We get back to Australia next Saturday. Love Chris

1. View of Fort from the ground
2. View down on the lower level
3. View from a window looking up the river.
4. Look at the thickness of those walls.
5. The little church at the opening of the ground level.
6. Information about the Fort.
7. Picture from the internet, as I couldn't get a picture from atop, just shows you how huge it is.

Wow! This was certainly an amazing education on how well defended the areas in Europe were with forts like this. I can only imagine the stories this place could share.

Hi Karen, it certainly was an eye opener for me. I know little about the happenings of WW11 etc. To think that this Fort was built so long ago and now is a museum full of fascinating history is wonderful for people to visit. Love Chris
