Nothing better to get into the holiday spirit than to make cards with beautiful designs! I loved making this one...I used mylar under the tree to make it extra sparkly! I used the Tree Ornament from Tattered Stitches which was perfect for this card... Here is the link to the site for anyone interested....

Oh my! What a fabulous card! Using that mylar was a fantastic technique as it really did increase the sparkle. I can't quilt figure out what you used for the frame. Beads? I'm sure whoever receives a card from you will treasure it and put it on display for others to enjoy as well.

Thank you Penny.... The frame is a motif stitch from my software...but you could use a decorative stitch from your embroidery/sewing machine too!

I'm only able to see the thumbnail of this card but it is so pretty. I have never tried a Mylar anything. I have some discarded Mylar balloons I was going to experiment with but I don't think it would work like the pretty iridescent sheets.

Thanks, Patti....photos are an ongoing problem, as you well know... you should try your mylar balloons as they would give a good but different effect....

Was this a design that was specially made for the card? Did you stitch the quilted look too, or is that a printed card? Looks great. I've tried embroidery with greeting cards before, and did not have very appealing results. The mylar is a great touch!!

Thanks...I stitched the quilting lines and decorative border and lettering...they were not a part of the original design.
