Lia's Colorlock Swimsuit from leftover fabric (pics deleted)
There's only narrow strips of the mermaid scale fabric left from Lily's swim outfit and I tried to piece those with the solid fabric to make a one piece swimsuit. I used double sided tape to help line up the seam as swim fabric is extremely slippery. That was life saving! Matching all the seams was a snap! It turned out surprisingly beautiful and flattering and I'm very proud of myself.
The strips are not long enough so I had to piece the top part too. Those are from the corners when I cut the half circle.

I’m proud of you too! I have never tried to make a swimsuit. This looks great on your beautiful model. I would have liked to see the front better just to see the top. Great job! Pat yourself on the back for me while I applaud you!

I probably wouldn't have tried making swimsuits either if it were not for Lily who's very particular about what she wears and she is extremely skinny. You can buy beautiful swimsuits for Kids for not very much money. Swimwear fabric could be tricky to cut, sew. Putting elastics on also takes a lot of practice.
I just added the front picture. I didn't want to cut into the remaining nice piece of the solid fabric, so I used the print for both left and right for the top part. Those print scraps are the corners from cutting the half circle skirt.

I like the front and I agree to not cut the other piece when this one worked perfectly. Your daughter is so cute! Thanks for adding the front picture.

You have made such a pretty swimsuit from the scraps. You have 2 beautiful girls to stitch pretty things for and they are so very fortunate to have you.
