My daughter Esther saw this design and I bought and knitted it for my granddaughter. See picture 1. The backside is exactly the same. As the pattern needed 92 stitches and I had only some thinner remnants in the right colours (black and yellow for the Oilers) I had to use two strands for both. Next time I would rather add some stitches between the different parts of the design, but I did not want to experiment.

However, Esther had also seen a variation with added braids. So I added braids to the other side of the hat (detail pict 2). And made two extra braids in case Ruth wants a girls only version.
