Hi Cuties, after I found out Vicki had the kind of cancer she had, I was heartsick. I didn’t think her chances were the greatest, but I sure wasn’t expecting her demise so soon.

Anyway, I thought I’d make a bag she could make for her to carry blanket, book, magazines etc while she would be taking chemo. So I came across a pattern with cats in pj’s, but you know me. I don’t like to buy patterns that once I make one, I have met the challenge and don’t want to make another. So I took a picture and went off of that.
My thoughts were Vicki might be away from her real cats but she could always have these with her at the hospital, wherever. The day after I finished the bag I learned of Vicki’s passing. I was heartbroken as all of us were.
So I took the bag and other things, for show and tell today, at our sew group Christmas get together. After we all were leaving and at our cars, one lady told me, “I know you don’t sell your items but if you decide to get rid of the cat bag, I’d like it for my sister-in-law for Christmas bc she loves cats.” I told her I wondered what I’d do with it. Nora and Kinley both love cats but the bag was really too large for either of them. Also, if I gave to them it would be a reminder of the loss. I turned and said, “do you really want it?” To which she replied, “Only if you let me pay for it” Before I knew it she thrust money in my hand and I handed over the bag I was going to put in my car. She said if it wasn’t enough tell her. I told her I always feel guilty taking money and tried to give her half of it back but she said no. She said I solved her gift shopping and her sister-in-law would be thrilled. So I feel Vicki would have wanted another lover of cats to have it.
Then to top that, after I got home one of the other group members called to ask if I would sell her the bag. She wanted to give it to their pastors wife who is also a cat rescuer. I told her she was too late. I didn’t even get it in my car.
I hope Vicki knew how much we all thought of her. ❤️to all my Cuties here-Toogie

That would have been the perfect gift for her for both reasons the cats of course for her furbabies and the things you need when you are doing chemo would have fit perfectly! It is so pretty, and I love the colors and the size!
