Thanks to 02Kar and her instructions I was able to make a hot pot pad and experimented with a little skillet scrubber. I know yarn works well for dishcloths and the like. I only wished that when I ran out of the yarn I was using for the pad I had started my variegated yarn where it would be less noticeable. More will be made as gifts.
