Hi gals, been doing a bit of sewing for Christmas gifts. Been with Mum every other day - she’s still hanging in there. It’s 2 years tomorrow (22nd November) since she broke her neck which started the beginning of getting her into Opal Tingira community centre.

These are some Cute snowmen, Emb library designs. I haven’t washed the WSS out of them yet.
I’ve also made the first parts of a purse with Frangipanis on them from Sweetpea.

I hope everyone is ok. We are nearly in the beginning of our summer with some hot days ahead. Love Chris

Lovely to see your busy. Your mum is amazing and you are so lucky that she is being so well cared for. Hope your sister is OK? Great work. Totally freezing in Wales and snow too. Not like Carolyn/noah gets but it’s cold and icy underfoot and makes one want to Stay inside. While you’re finding it hot think of me freezing. Take care

Hi Caroline, yes, I'm thinking of you in the cold weather whilst down-under we swelter. Julie is doing well and was very upset to leave us after being here for nearly 3 weeks, but Mum has made an amazing recovery. It's just not her time to go yet, so I just visit her 3 times a week and do her hair to make sure she is looking good. She cant' understand directions, and of course conversation is all over the place. Love Chris

Hi Kim, you've got good taste then too! They are the most beautiful flowers and so delicate. My trees haven't begun to flower yet, but there are some in the neighbourhood that have already got flowers on them. Love Chris

Hi Suzanne, yes, all is well. Frangipanis are my all time favourite flower and I too love their scent.
I got a great report from my Radiation Oncologist on Thursday and she said she'll see me next year!
As I said above, it's hot here already and I don't like the heat, so I've got my fan on, it's not really hot enough for the air conditioner as yet. Not looking forward to the next 3 months, but I'll get through them. Mum is a miracle and continues to surprise us all. Love Chris

You are an inspiration. I need to get set up to do some embroidery, and now I feel like I have some direction. The holiday season is starting around here, so I will say, Happy Holidays!

Beautiful and amazing how much you accomplish. Wondering as I do with other embroiderer's what stabilizer you use behind your bath towels and your flour sack type towels. I know John Deer recommends tearaway washaway and a clear washaway on top. Also, do you pre-wash your towels. I am trying that before embroidering to prevent shrinkage on bath towels this yr. while my health stays good. I am just a curious person as to how someone does their embroideries. Where I live it is so windy and snow pellets are coming down today--first of the season. Going to be in the 30's F today.

Hi Patti, ok, first of all I use tear away on the back and WSS on the front. I've not used a wash away tear away, but that would be great. I just prefer it to cut away as it makes the embroidery too stiff. I don't prewash my towels, but do once the stitching has been done to remove the WSS.
I'm sitting here in my back room as I write this at 1.30pm Sunday afternoon and it's 30C (86F) outside - hot and windy!!
I saw Mum this morning and she's doing well, feeding herself once again, which I am just amazed at. She's a miracle!!! Love Chris

Beautiful stitching! Always fun to see what you make for your gifts!
In Michigan, we are in our Winter. It is cold here! We and our "local" kiddos (along with our news Grandsons) will head to Frankenmuth (a German village in Michigan) for Thanksgiving - we will be missing our oldest son, Alex and his family - they are in Belgium.
Enjoy your Summer!!! Hugs, Laura

Hi Laura, yes, I've seen your weather reports in America and know how chilly it's getting. Caroline from Wales is saying the same thing. I must admit it's been a challenging year what with Mum being so up and down, so doing this has been a great distraction. Have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow. Love Chris

Wow, lots of great stitching here! The snowman in the blue coat looks familiar - I might have him in my design stash, too. Will have to search.
Love the frangipanis. Can’t wait to see the finished purse. The colors are gorgeous.
