misscharlie, Loretta had an adorable baby quilt a couple months ago - if I can find it I will attach a link - you could go with any designs that you wanted or none at all - just use material - I think it was a rag quilt.

I'm not a good quilter so when I have made pram & bed quilts, I cheated. for winter, I bought a plain blanket and devided it into squares with pins (then tacked) marked the center of each square & embriodered a design in each. Then I layed the blanket on my carpet & pined it down with weights. layed quilt backing on top then another blanket. When all edges matched I picked up a part of the edge and sprayed with glue then pined the edges. then working inwards I used a very thin cutting board to slide under the quilt and pined. (lots & lots) Turn the quilt over and tack near the first tacking. put into machine & sew down first tacking lines. bind the edges. Also have sewed binding down and across the square lines. The hardest part was lining up the two blankets. I have also done this with quilting material. Good Luck.

The baby quilts I have made I have used flannel with a baby print and crazy quilted it. I think it is the easiest type of quilting since you don't have to worry about seam allowances. No points to match up! Yea! If you want, I can email you pictures and instructions on who to do it. I have taught a group of ladies, that barely knew how to sew, to do crazy quilting and we made a queen size quilt. I had it unofficially appraised and they said it was worth about $750. So if we can do that, you can do a baby quilt!
