This is a bag I have just made for a friend's birthday. It is called a 'confetti bag'. You can decorate it as you please - I used silk flowers pulled apart and lots of bits of thread. Afterwards, you lay a piece of plastic over the right side of the bag and stitch thru the layers to hold it together. Then you make up the bag. I gave it to my friend today and she loves it.

This is gorgeous. The plastic keeps the flowers from becoming all messed up. Your friend is very fortunate. *4U

Wow, I think this would be better than stitching on the plastic itself as I am in process of doing now. Love the concept. A bag like this is great for beaches. *4U ><>

cool bag but how do you secure the items on the bag before you apply the plastic? How do you apply the plastic? I know by sewing it but I need directions please... thanks

Welcome to the 'Cute' family. I use a glue stick or you could use a spray glue. When I'm happy with my collage on the fabric, I carefully lay the precut plastic over the top and secure all round with clothes pegs or small bulldog clips. Then I stitch across the bag at 3" intervals along lines which I drew on the back of the fabric before I started. Hope that helps you.
Ah! I see - now I know you are even cleverer than I thought! :-) Love from Dianne x xx

Beautiful bag! I noticed that butterfly - did you embroider it? *4U

No, the butterfly is pre-printed fabric. It flew off of my quilt and rather wanted to live on the bag!! HEHE
