Well I have used the h2o stabilize on top and bottom, then it all washes out. I am sure others do different, for I remember also but can not find the posting for you.

Velour towelling may get hoop burns so definitely DO NOT HOOP the towell, If you need basting stitches please send me exact internal dimensions of hoop u r goin to use: also format you require & I will create basting stitches for you. emad in profile. hnr, m

Charlene,hoop the towel with WSS on top and underneath.When you have finished, what doesn't tear away will wash out. Two layers underneath and one layer on top.Ricky

I agree..do not hoop the towel. You can baste it in the hoop, you can LIGHTLY spray the stablizer to make it stick temp. (I use a light weight tear away on the bottom) If you spray it too much it starts to dissolve! And always use some on top to keep those stitches from sinking!

First, I iron and starch the towel with the pile going in its preferred direction. (both front and back)I put down Tear-A-way stabilizer, then use 505 spray and fix to attach the towel, Then I put down OESD AquaFilm Wash-Away topping. I then hoop the entire group. The topping can be removed with tweezers and pulls off nicely without disturbing your design. The small bits that are left of the topping can be used in other projects. I know that's probably overkill, but I sell mine and have never had 1 returned due to problems. I also notice that there are others left in the boutiques that don't look nearly as nice as mine. This is the way I was taught by the people who sold me my machine. Also, if this towel (usually a hand towel) is for "looks" only, I use cut away to keep the design nice and flat. I don't send out pre-washed towels, so there can be no "close" clipping or cutting. To answer the other part of your question: How do you attach WSS: If you are going to "float" it on top of your material, just take residue from a drop of water on your finger and touch a corner and press down onto the material and it will stick until you pull it loose.;)
*Velour* type is not velour and will not get burns from hoop according to my experience.

Depending what you are embroidering on the towel it is sometimes possible to use bridal tulle on top and this really helps to control the pokies. It just pulls away much like tearaway. Tweezers will take care of any strays. If you are using a wss make sure it is a quality one and hot water on a q-tip will dissolve the parts that are still showing so you don't have to wash away the new look.
If you look at the tutorial on Embroidery Library they will show you what happens after seven washings when you use a tear away stabilizer for your towel. It isn't pretty. There is a heat away but I use a light weight poly mesh cut away so the embroidery will last through the washings. I even use Carriff's sewer cloth as it is so light weight and inexpensive. you girls are lucky that you can buy it at home depot and yes, I checked with my dealer and it is perfectly safe to use, won't void a warranty and no lint.
