I did this cute sunbonnet sue on fleece. I then hemstitched around the edges so I can crochet on it.

Adorable & crochet around it will b so nice. R U aware that sewing around with a larger needle & no thread makes it easier to crochet around. You put the needle through the needle holes so it makes it easier. *4U

I do hemstitching so that is how I made the holes. I mainly do flannel blankets but occasionally do fleece.

That looks gorgeous. Can I give you a tip? If you embroider blanket stitch all the way around by hand, nice and even, it will be very easy then to put some crochet edges around it.Ricky.

The crechet edging will finish the blanket off nicely. Love little Sunbonnet Sue.

This is darling. I think my new machines will hemstitch but I haven't taken the time to learn yet. We will have to have a Pitty Party so you can pitty me and teach me at the same time.

You'll have to come to my house as my hemstitch machines are heavy. They were made in 1926.
