dkjack- deb how do you take care of your treadle machine what do you use on the wood or anyone else who could answer this

It brings back memeories for me. MaMa had one and that is what I learned to sew on. To clean it Murphy's oil soap and then use Old English polish. Both old stand by but works great on wood. Enjoy your treasure. Wished I had MaMa's but it is gone long ago. *4u

I refinished mine because I didn't care whether it took away from the value. I wanted it to last another 100 years. If you don't want to do that, you could put some Linseed oil, Mini Wood Wax, or Murphy's Oil Soap on the wood. The machines are so old, the wood is dry. Air conditioning really drys out wood.
