I used to make tons of these for my DD when she was a baby. Now there is a wed site selling them. They are called Taggies and cost a small fortune. I haven't seen any patterns for them but it isn't hard to do. Good luck.

They are called "Taggies"
Basic directions:
1. Cut 2 squares of fabric, any size you want.
2. Place one square of fabric right side up.
3. Cut ribbon pieces, fold in half and place in position
around the edges of fabric you just layed down.
Make sure the ends of the ribbon line up with the
outer edge of your fabric and the fold of the ribbon
point to the center of the fabric square.
4. Now I like to sew a 1/4" seam all around to tack the
ribbons in place.
5. Lay your second fabric square on right side down, on
top of the piece you just finished tacking the ribbons
to. This makes both righ sides of fabric facing each
other.
6. Sew 1/2" seam all around, leaving an opening, maybe 3"
so that you can turn right side out.
7. Close the opening.
8. You now have a "Taggie"

I wouldn't think it would be hard to create your own pattern. 12x12 size would be easy size to carry in diaper bag. You could use fabrics of your choice to add to the touchy feely (minkie, fleece, corduroy, chenille). Just use two pieces, buy 15 to 20 pieces of grosgrain and satin ribbons and insert between the fabrics. I even saw one with a small teething ring attached with one of the ribbons.
