Misscharlie - did you get your problem solved? I too have been working on splitting a design, then combining different designs, but i am just playing with my software -not trying to do a project needed right away. Hope you have it solved.

Misscharlie I believe jrob would probably b the one to help u on this. She is so good at explaining things & I just flounder all over the place & make things worse. Hopefully she'll see your ques. & help.. I draw a line on my stabalizer & put an erasable mark on my hoop where I am at when I stop the design then when I rehoop I match up the lines exactly so that the embroidery will start where I left off, this works 4 me but I really think jrob can help U. I'm sorry, if I were with U I could show u better than I can tell you. *4U & please try to b patient. someone here will help U. *4U

Print out the sections of your design then pin or tape the sections to the fabric just the way you want it to be sewn out. Mark the centers of each section and adjacent corners. Next hoop your fabric making sure to have it centered. When you have finished sewing the first section you have your second section already marked so that you just center the next section. You can use your print out to double check the placement of your next section.
Oh, you need to decide what part needs to be sewn first. Such as, with a bird you would stitch the tail first, then the body. With a lady, you would stitch the lower half before the top half. That way if there is any overlapping, it would look more natural.
