Sorry dpickel I do not have a Janome. Wanted to welcome U to the Cute site. I'm sure some of the janome users can talk with u about the machine & possibly tell u what U need to do. We r glad to have u with the cutes.

Don't have a Janome, but when I had that problem with my Viking SE, the repairman just adjusted it a couple of clicks and it works fine. ALSO is it just when you are doing the "fix" or "baste" stitch? If so, start the design, let it sew a couple of stitches, stop it, then hit the "fix" button to fix it in the hoop. Then go back to the design. It SHOULD go back to where you stopped...but if it doesn't (I've not sure what a Janome can do) you have only sewn a few stitches, so just start from the beginning.
