I should like something that is easy to understand for the not-english speaking, like: cuties offer, from cuties to cuties, cuties gift...(correct my mistake of orthograph) so that we understand easily that it is free to download, and that cuties have been so generous to share. Some among us are not capable to create designs (myself for example) how can I thank for this generosity?

I do believe since the site is global that it should be easy for non-English speaking "cuties", as claudenicolas said. I too like the "Designs by Cuties" suggested by Shirl. Very generous of you!

I agree with celticlady -- Freebies by Cuties. Cuties refers to those who use the site; so no confusion as to whom they are from, and freebies is a universal word among the machine embroidery group.

If placed in top blue bar with the "Today's free designs" I think everyone would understand that they are free. Just wish I could be a contributing person. But don't think digitizing is in my near feature.

I have been thinking about this and I believe that whatever you come up with - as a collection of designers - that you will really need to state that the designs are given to the members by members that have digitized these designs in this creative outlet that has been provided through the generosity of Veronika and the CUTEEMBROIDERY website. So perhaps those that are given the designs could post to each other in private and make a decision of what they would like it to be called - together - like a group conscience amoungst them as a collection of designers. What do you think?

Yes, Shirlene, I think it should be clear that the designs are by the people here on the forum, not by Cute Embroidery, but that Cute is providing a place to download them. I'd hate for Veronika to take any flak because someone who didn't understand this didn't think a design was good, didn't realize it was done by non-professionals. We need to keep that distinction clear for those who might not know. M
I agree, it should be clear they are not associated with Cute. We know that we call each other cuties but someone not familiar with the site may think any title including cuties is part of Cute Embroidery. I suggested "Guest Freebies" because I felt it separated Cute from it. Maybe someone could come up with a clever wording meaning the same thing.
There could be a disclosure statement/explanation on the page where they are found. Something to the effect that they were graciously donated by individuals visiting and sharing on the site.
Just a thought....

Thanks all of you and especially Meganne - I like that alot - but I am not one of them - that will be giving - an informed group conscience should be taken amongst you. Hehehe!
Most places also have copyrights, and I think that there should also be a statement protecting the individuals that made the designs, in the sense that sometimes there have been cases of people selling others work on line, as if it was theirs.

How about "Free Designs by Cuties". I like the 'Designs by Cuties', but if we want to make sure that people know they are free, why not just add that word to the beginning of the name?

I am a member of a LOT of Yahoo groups and there has been a whole bunch of stuff going on between the groups in that one site is "stealing" designs from other web sites and posting and selling them as their own. I like the idea overall, but my suggestion would be to get some LEGAL ADVICE to some up with a disclaimer that "CUTE is not responsible for the contents of items displayed on this page, etc, etc, etc) just to protect CUTE. As I am sure you all know, copyright laws and infringement upon those laws is very tricky with substantial potential liability on all persons concerned.
I am not trying to rain on your parade as I do think it is a great idea and a way to share our work with others, but please protect yourselves.

When all legalaties are sorted and Cute can come up with a disclaimer perhaps a name as simple as.CREATIVE FAMILY CONTRIBUTIONS. It has no name related to Cute other than family and that is what we call ourselves and then takes the ownership of this section off Veronika and Cute so therefor are not then resposable for our misstakes etc. And if posts are illigal then it goes back to the contributer..
