Golly thought Halloween was everywhere, shows what I know about the rest of the world...it is a wonderfull time for all the little ones getting dressed up and going to the neighbours and collecting all that candy....how I remember making the outfits for my little ones and taking them out to "trick or treat"...

I guess I didn't realize other countries don't celebrate Halloween as we do. A lot of harvest or Fall designs could fall perhaps in that category, but all the spooks and goulds and scary stuff is definitely Halloween. Some strict religious churches and organizations prefer to have Harvest celebrations on Oct. 31 to keep kids from participating in Trick or Treat door to door. They consider Halloween to be pagan or Heathen. I always thought it to be fun evening for children. Kind of in the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus category. We know it is make believe!!

The good news is you have a whole month of October it is always October 31st. The trick or treat days for the children to dress in costume and go and "beg" for candy varies though. Like in the town I live in if Halloween falls on a Sunday the city "fathers" they do not allow it to be observed for the trick or treating it is then usually done on Saturday or Monday. I knew you had the answer just wanted to share some about the town I live in. *

Thanks, Guys. I knew what it was all about, just couldn't remember the date. It would be interesting to see how many Aussies celebrate Halloween. It really is no big deal thing where we live, here in Hope Valley, Adelaide. No one, not even the kids, seem to be doing anything. No treats, no tricks, no rocking your roof!

Halloween was never was celebrated in New Zealand as I was growing up either, but in the last few years it has started to catch on, we get a few children out trick or treating now.
