Well our Darlling Benny 17yrs old has had a back leg amputated yesterday. Due to cancer in the bone. He is home and doing fine, and actually manages to walk reasomablely. He is on pain killers for awhile. Will keep him inside for at least 2 weeks. We are happy with the operation. Sad, but needed if he was to live a better life for some time longer. It was hard to come to grips with all this but we LOVE him sooooo much. Could not bear to lose him just yet. Would you believe DH and I never take holidays together as one of us stays home to look after him. And this was before his op. We only go vist our Son interstate.

Anyway this was just an update on Benny as I had mentioned this recently.
All is well as can be expected. Pic taken some years ago.

Our vet says that more and more pets are getting cancer because they are living longer lives. Our Rott is 14 yo and he says that breed rarely goes into the double digits. I think we treat our pets a lot better now than we did in the old days. I hope all goes well and Benny makes a speedy recovery.

Benny is always around me and my gardening. I will have to work out a way for him to enter the garden patch without jumping the fence now...without letting the chooks in.

Hope Benny gets better soon. Animals are amazing how they bounce back. If a human had the same op, we would take months to recover!! *4U

Benny is beautiful. Hope everything turns out well. Vets are wonderful. I think they make more money than M.D.'s We spend more on our pets than we do on our selves. Do they make a prosthetic leg for cats?
