Not sure. I would guess between 1/2-1 inch. Jrob may have the right answer. She has page that gave information on placement.

"Handkerchiefs: 1 1/2 inches from corner point, sewn at a 45 degree angle. Monogram should face the point, not the center of the handkerchief." It doesn't say what the size should be, but I would guess .5".

Thank you grannyo.....will see if I can find something that small...
Correct measurements, but you can make the initials up to 3/4" or so, depending on the font used and how it looks.;)
Thanks for much jrob

Most of hankies I've seen are small block style or old English style usually in upper corner. Can't remember if right or left. Appropriate corner if you folded and inserted in breast pocket of men's suit. I think it may be right upper corner. Maybe some one will look it up.

What does corner point mean? I guess that turn is not in my vocabulary.

Katy the handies has 4 corners so you choose the corner to put the monogram on and then measure up 1 1/2" and a 45 degree angle and place the monogram at that point as your center of the design...hope this explains... *4U
sorry s/b hankie
