Depends on the country you are in, apply to your country's patent office. My son and his friend applied for patent on something they wanted to do.. took them a while and an appeal but they got it a couple of weeks ago. All the best Jo

I don't know, but all the best luck to your relative!!! I love it when people have an idea, then seek to patent it!! We've all had those ideas, let them go, and seen someone else make tons of money on it, hee hee hee. So you tell her, "You go, Girl!" Best of luck. Marji

Thank you. Yes, I've had some ideas, too, and never followed through. Then when someone else "invented" it and patented it, I was kicking myself. :-)
