Unfortunately w/ school just starting 2 weeks ago $25 is a fortune for me and it will be Nov. before I have an extra $25 for any "luxuries." Yesterday while driving past I saw the man changed the sign to FREE! I stopped the bus and ran to the house, I am picking up the old beat up desk on Sunday. I will post a pic of it when I get it set up in the sewing room. Praise Jesus, He knew I needed that desk and that desk needed a new home. Just wanted to share w/ everyone.

I use an old desk for my sewing table, had it for maybe 20 years now but I did have to pay $25 for mine, pre-loved of course, guess I wasn't being blessed back then. LOL!
You will just love it, I wouldn't part with mine for all the tea in China.
DH recently bought me a Horn (Koala) sewing centre and it isn't anywhere near as good as the heavy old desk.

Christmas one year...........he is such a dear. They are Koala one for my surger and one for my other machine which now it has my embroidery machine in it. The old desks are built so much better thou. Enjoy your desk.

This is a wonderful find. God helps in mysterious ways. It is a shame the kids on the bus couldn't help you load it up on the bus. I guess the school would frown upon that!! Early on Friday mornings, I bet you pass by all the good yard and garage sales. Just stop the bus and load it up!!! Good idea, don't you think?

Wow, can I find one, too? That's pretty neat. I'll have to start checking the thrift stores and stuff for the same sort of thing. Thrift stores and I get along great. If ever you don't hear from me, I probably got lost in a thrift store somewhere. :)

LOL I know what you mean I was a regular there before except I call them vintage shops lol NOW since coming here and getting great ideas for recycling I go shopping and help out the needy and get the materials I need! My newest quest is a pr of pinking shears they want $35 at joanns and $14 at walmart HAH!!! I will hunt them out at salvation army*

WOW that is great! I use an old desk also for sewing...I love mine as it doesn't jump around when I start sewing fast OR with both machines going :) I remember that familiar saying "ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE" *2U
