Even if you reduce the size of the shoes, do you think they would fit the baby? Maybe do them in pieces and sew together? Good luck! LOL

If you resize and make it smaller to put in 4x4 hoop the whole shoe will be smaller - probably too small for baby. I don't know about splitting - then you would probably have another seam on top of shoe toe and would have to make allowance for the seam.

Depending on how good your embroidery program is, you should not re-size by more than 20%, some programs no more than 10%.
If you can take the design into the actual stitch file, or the digitising section (where you digitise your own designs from scratch) of your program you can actually do more with it. Hope this helps Mary, hnr, M

It depends of the quality of the design and the program you are using I have resized a design 25% less than it size and it stitched out perfect. (It was from here, Cute)
