Thank you! It was a hit. The bride wouldn't even allow her maid of honor to write on it (she was listitng the gifts on the back of the cards).

Yes, straight on the card. You hoop cutaway and spray the cutaway. gently press card down and stitch with a brand new sharp needle. There are specific "cardstock" designs that are lighter and less stitches. When done, cut excess cutaway off, cover inside with another pice of cardstock, and VOILA.
