A card for a 91st Birthday in three days time (27th Sept.) The photograph replaces an embroidered flower - I cut out the flower within the frame and inserted the photo' The design is embroidered on 'crushed' terylene and set on a sparkling fireworks background.

Thank you Anna, I hope she does. The pic. was taken in her younger days but you would still not believe that she is up to 91 years.

That is so pretty. Is terylene a thin fabric a person might find in the bridal fabrics ?

Yes Ann, the fabric I used is quite silky see through, with a crinkled surface. Bridal fabric could be a place to look for it but I am using a brand new pair of curtains given to me as a gift. I'm not a 'net curtain' person so I have found an alternative use for them! :-) :-)

Thank you Shirlene. The embroidery design reminded me of a locket hanging from a brooch pin, where you add a treasured photo' (or even a lock of hair.)

Thank you lbrow - she is wearing what we used to call a 'pillbox' hat, only about 2 inches in depth and shaped to the head. Sometimes just left plain, sometimes with a flower embellishment.
