I really could use some advice/help. I would love to make a large tapestry for church, but have no idea what to put on it. Christian Christmas theme...About 3' x 4. All ideas would really help.

The yearly magazine Quilt it for Christmas has had a series of stained glass silhouette patterns by a designer named Dilys Fronka. Here is a link to where you can by the pattern. I think it would be great for a church, looks like a stained glass window, it probably wouldn't be hard to come up with your own "silhouette" using clip art and blow it up to whatever size you want, put it on black fabric and "wonder under" it onto a batik print. Hopefully the pic will come through so you can see what they look like.. there is the nativity, one with wiseman, shepherd, etc...

thank you for the design. Have you tried any of these products?
I have bought the magazine yearly so I didn't have to buy the kit, I have not made it but a friend did, You basically take a big piece of black fabric and put some fusible on the back, lay the pattern for the silhouette on the black and cut around it, then you just iron it on t he background, you can then satin stitch around the black to hold it down. In the kit I believe they sell you the black piece already cut out... But you could make your own then you could make it bigger since you wanted it 3'x 4'
This is beautiful, like the batik looking like stained glass. M
