Welcome to Cute.
I have a Janome 300E. I had trouble with my machine all day yesterday. Have you changed the thread - not just the spool but kind. I was using poly and when I finshed working on everything. When I got it all tweeked, rayon will sew. I will try poly later tonight. If I can help you - I will try.
Just let me know.

Welcome sweetie. I don't know anything a Janome machines either, but surly someone will. Call your dealer if you can not remedy it. You spent to much money for them not to help you.

Could be: 1)type of thread, 2)if pre-wound bobbin too big, just cut off about 3 yards and try again, 3)a burr on the "finger" aka (little arm). Slowly run your finger over it and see if anything "sticks" you. If so, use a very fine sand paper and gently smooth it off.;)

I always have funny problems with my 9700 too. Driving me nuts. a 10mins embroidery can end up 1hr. OMG

I have face problems of big machine jam sound at bobbin case area. Then the fabrics will have threads jammed up at the base of the fabric.

I have tried

1-clean the bobbin case area (taking out the metal plate etc),

2-Rethread (sometimes its not hooked well),

3-Change bobbin case (this solve most of my problems),

4-check the foot/needle etc if tight.

I can tell u i have done soooo many times, then i faced the same problems until i redo it again n again (those points mentioned) n get things done. ARGK

another thing is i was told by the sales assistant to put the bobbin thread direction as anti clockwise into the bobbin area. When I have threads problem, i will pull out a lot till the screen there n let it slowly use up during sewing/embroidery.

When i complain, the lady said i didnt do this, didnt do that. :(

I will ask her to come down n check my machine one of these days too. because i find it noisy when everyone saying their janome is sooooooo quiet.

I have found to only use Janome bobbin cotton as the tension is set for it. This has helped with most problems in my Janome 9700. I also let it cool down every couple of hrs. I take a walk in my garden, have a coffie then restart. Happy embroidering *4U

Sometimes changing thread will work too.(different brand)And in bobbin too.
