Has anyone in the group ever done a quilt like the Latte Quilt (Kerrie Hay) or any of the Jenny Haskins quilts or just any quilt in which the whole block is embroidered?

Yes i have only the binding left to do now. I used the giga hoop, that way my blocks are of a good size, the trick is to embroider your blocks first on your fabric then cut to the required size. As with all quilting use good quality fabrics.

Thanks for that advice. Are you doing it by yourself or in a class!

I've done several now using so many of my pretty designs. With the alphas, I stitch it on a nice fabric, then cut with a template, then add a border then piece em together and poof a quilt. When i get ready to quilt em I've learned the easiest thing for me is to lay it out and safety pin the whole thing together then free motion quilt in on my machine. Quite addicting. Have fun

No, sigh, but my Janome dealer was offering a class in the Jenny Haskins one about the ocean, blues & greens, and they're doing it on dupioni silk. It's finished now, and I drool over it every time I go there. When you have 6 cats & 2 dogs, you don't have silk quilts, hee hee hee, you have hair quilts. But I can dream, right? Marji
