On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night. Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 63:6-7

Precious Z’s‏

Have you ever found yourself awake in the middle of the night worrying? Out of the blue, maybe you start thinking about your finances. Maybe you begin to worry about your job or your family or your future. Whatever it is, that thing that you worry about robs you of precious Z's.

During those times, the best thing to do is what we've been talking about for the last several weeks. Pray. When you wake up and begin to worry, take that worry to God.

Remember, God doesn't just want to hear from you when things are going great. And a life of prayer isn't something that just happens during daylight hours. Time and time again throughout the Bible you can read accounts of people waking up in the middle of the night and communicating with God.

The next time you find yourself up in the middle of the night worrying, try consciously thinking of God. Turn to him "through the watches of the night." Because as you begin to turn to him then, he'll help you recapture those Z's again. And you'll begin to find yourself waking up refreshed rather than exhausted from needless worry.

Amen. Can i tell you a true store about the power of prayer. I was fostering a little boy with many problems and i prayed that he would find a home that would love him one day a family was sent to my door from another state and they had all of one day to decide. 1st in this country it is not common to go state to state only within your own. 2nd this childs grandmother had talked to this family at church and told them of the little boy. The grandmothes daughter wouldn't allow her to have him. So this family applied and when they arrived at my house the little boy jumped from my arms to the ladies arms. They were able to adopt him And they were of the same denomination as I. Also i read an artical in a magazine years later on the story of this little boy and they said he was the greatest blessing they had ever received. Prayer is my comfort. My strength my daily breath my joy to know I can talk to my Heavenly Father whenever and how ever and about what ever not alway asking for something but just a friend. Prayer is the one thing no one can stop although i think in time the way the world is going someone may try but it is the closest we can come to him at this time. THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION

Thanks for the reminder! Last night I woke up & was wide awake for no reason! I figured I needed to pray for SOMEONE but didn't know who! So just lifted my prayer up & the Lord knew who it was for! Never treat lightly the power of prayer!
