I mailed my payment for 9/5. Then I recieved a large bill for 10/08 wanting payment right away. I called them, they say they did not recieve 9/5 payment. I never recieved it back, the bank said it was never cashed. I then called the bank and put a stop payment on the check. In this mess Chase raised my interest to 20.99, which was 5.99 before. I have been with them along time. so I called and ask for my lower rate the next week. They told me not for 3 to 6 months. Could it be this is their new way to raise interest rates ?? This could increase their bottom line alot if they did this to all customers. Just wanted all to watch out. Hugs.

M.M. I sometimes think that the big money will find a way to make more from we people that have less. Yes, it is wrong, all of us should take a little time from "Cute" (not much, just a little.HaHa !!} to contact BBB and tell them what is happening to us !! H & *.

It is not just Chase. I am battling the same thing with Bank of America.

In the similar situation, I usually threaden to close my accout with them. When the closing manager take over. I took him/her what happens, he/she usually gave all me interest back. It is because they want your business more than anything.

Don't think I would use one that you put your paycheck on. Debit cards are not recommended for net purchases unless they are ones like nglover mentioned.

Dimds if it is anyway possible I try to use paypal to purchase designs, Been using it several yrs now & not just for designs but otherthings also. I've never had any trouble with them. I really don't like using my credit card to pay 4 items on internet unless I absolutely have to. *4U

I was told many years ago to stay away from credit cards issued by banks based in New York, as Chase Manhattan is, they are some of the worst for this percentage rate raising, and not fully disclosing how things work. I had a bit of a problem with Bank of America, but they were more than willing to work with me to straighten it out, and my rate is back to where it was. I use PayPal to buy things on line, only use the credit card when absolutely necessary. Good luck, Marji

You are right with the way they are raising interest rates...it was on the local news here yesterday :( Why is it always the "little" guy who gets hurt?

Most credit card companies will do this. Get one through a credit union, they usually have a fixed interest rate.
