I have enjoyed my tomatoes all Summer and now that Fall or Autumn approaches, I' ll have to wait until nest year. This was the last of my favorite lunches. Hope everyone had a wonderful summer!!!

I need to buy pansies to enjoy all winter. I usually have them set out by now. I'm slow this year!!

:-( Makes me sad... I just pulled the rest of my veggies last weekend. Guess we get to look forward to next spring.

I still need to pull up almost dead Zinnias. I clip the flowers off and save in brown paper bags and use for seeds next year.

They are so easy to grow. Just set a few plants among the flowers. You don't need a garden.
make sure you get plenty of compost and you'll end up with tomatoes that look like they're on steroids! mine were out of control... lol
Teri, I wish I had your soil. Ga. red clay is the pitts. Every time I go home to my Mom's home in Tennessee and see her rich soil, I am so envious.

I just had a tomato with my dinner of carrots, duck, and a baked potato. This is my favorite time of year; probably because of all the delicious vegetables from my garden.

I want to plant tomatoes. This last time I went to Home Depot to get some seeds and they were sold out. I'm going to go early this next season. Store tomatoes are way too expensive and they lack in taste by a long shot. I have to move on so that my mouth will stop watering. lol Thanks for sharing. :-) *4u

Granny, I don't buy seeds, too much trouble. I buy the plants, not the single big ones, but the little ones that come in 4 pk or 6 pk. easier to transplant small ones. Good luck!

I am so jealous! We had "1" tomato on our vine all summer. Never had this happen. Now cool weather and all the green ones will never ripen. (I'm not fond of green tomatoes). :)

If you pick the green ones and bring them in,before the first frost, they will ripen.
They make delicious green tomato chutney.

Lillian is farther south than I am and I am on a strick water ban in Ga. She may have loved on them more in Al.

There's NOTHING like a home grown tomato! Yummy. My DH pulled up our plants today. Still getting a few bell peppers however. We have a well and can water the garden..only use the well for that, have city water in the house. A friend has tomatoes that his GRANDPA planted years ago, save seeds each year. And the friend is in his 80's! I can't imagine how old the tomato type is! But my hubby said he had NEVER tasted anything so good! I think I'm going to plea & beg for a couple of seeds next spring!

Seeds are much more trouble. You have to grow them inside in a sunny window or green house type setup to get them started. My sister used to plant seeds in a plastic egg carton. Your friends tomatoes are called heirloom tomatoes and they certainly bring a premium price.

Did you have any Green tomatoes ? I used to make Green Tomatoe pickles in the fall with mine. always good with Veggies. A flower for you
