Made out of Doileys ,some 100 years old. The Lace Hanky in the middle of the Quilt was carried by my Mother -in-law when she married. She left it to Kim ( thinking she would like to carry it when she married (she was engaged at the time) where there were holes, due to age and such, I placed flowers and butterflies over them , Kim like purple and therefore purple and pink was the colour mainly used with a touch of apricot.

Thank you. Most of the Doileys were from my Mother in law and Kim was very close to her. So I thought that by putting them into a Quilt will make them Last longer.

Thanks for sharing Rossie, it's truly lovely.
I was wondering what to do with all those old doileys I have, but I think this idea might be a bit too ambitious for me, I was thinking more along the lines of placemats. LOL!
hugs n roses, M

Thank you Meganne. NO it's not to ambitious for you. It needn't be finished "yesterday: Just take your time- place the doileys on the back ground fabric - Use webbing from the Visoflex to keep it down ( Iron) and then embroider your designs on it. You will go mad looking for JUST the right design for that particular doiley , but just think of the end result. My squares were 12 1/2 unfinished (12 " finished) and I quilted as I went. ( joining 2 sections together at a time and then the borders were last. Made it more managable under the machine.
