I posted a reply to Megannes post about the blonde what I said was "unfortunately I would break it." Now I get a spam email saying "this is why you are fat." This is not the first time that I have left a comment in a post to later get spam emails relating to what I said. My email address is in my profile so cuties can write to me as a friend, NOT to get a quota for spam mail sent. Nor is it there to send me fwd's of emails that they receive. I do apologize to the majority of you that are reading this because I am sure you have nothing to do with it, but to the person or persons that are doing it PLEASE stop it. All I do is delete you anyways so why waste my time and yours?

hi raels i have a rogram that can track IP addresses so if i keep getting harrassing emails i can report them and that is bad news for them
by Cutie #8325825 15 Nov 2008
I don't even bother to look at them, I just delete it. As I said it is a waste of my time and theirs to do this. I have had my email account for over 15 years I am not going to change it because some people think they have the right to send mail to me. I would just like it to stop, is that too much to ask?
by raels011 15 Nov 2008
No it is not too much to ask I hate spammers

If someone (I could trust) would write to me and say please I get x amount of dollars if you open my email can you help me out I would bend over backwards to do it. IMO this is not a very friendly thing they are doing.

How immature. One has to feel sorry for people that have nothing better to do than send dumb e-mails. I took mine out of the profile because it can be read without even logging on to the site. Anyone wants my e-mail they can send me a personal note. It makes me sad to see occasionally a post that reprimands the writer for not using the right category.
While I am at it GOOD NEWS Both Grandkids are home from the hospital and new kidney is working well. Angie

We do seem to have some that can not play nice, but we have to learn to ignore these things, and you most certainly are doing it by deleting anything like that. I hate to think that we have people here that can be so hateful. This is not what this site has been created for. You do like a friend told me several years ago. "Learn to grow feathers." Special flowers to you. ***

Misscharilie, Sorry this is happening to you. Some people have nothing better to do than bother other people. It appears they suffer from low self esteem and harrassing others seems to make them feel important, like they have the upper hand over others. We know better than that. Just ignore them. Like my mom always said, "It will all come out in the wash and they will be the dirty socks hanging on the end of the line."

Miss Charlie, I'm sorry that you are having a problem, however, I'm not 100% sure that it can be attributed to someone on this site. My provider, Google, is programmed to put up ads regarding a primary word in the emails I receive and that could be what is happening to you. Some program that is running in the background is picking up on a word or words, and automatically sending you an email. Mark them as spam before you delete and hopefully you will eventually get rid of it. I would think that if someone were spamming from this site anyone who's email address have ever been posted would have been picked up by the BOT.;)

ty for your reply. I do however find it strange that the other yahoo email account that I have which I did not have in my profile never receives spam emails. I honestly thought for quite awhile it was just coincidence that I would get emails that connected with different comments I would make. For example when Evia was born all of a sudden I got emails about free diapers. When I wrote about buddy I get emails about dog products. The breaking point was the reply I left in Megannes post and the email I received after my reply. So I honestly do not think it is a program that is picking up on my posts. *

don't worry your cute little head about it, if somebody takes offense to something somebody may write I feel you should always take it with a grain of salt, you can't hear the tone of voice or see a grin or smirk. We have the right of speech and if somebody doesn't like what you say that is their right but for ever and always it is your right to say it!! SO THERE. Keep smilin we all love ya here, and the spammer is just a lonely little nobody.

I'm sorry to hear that you are being pestered. I don't know what type of spam you are getting, but I have to admit that I wondered if whoever was/is sending it felt that they were actually trying to help you out. You said (in the comments below) that when you mentioned your dog, you started to get dog-related spam, and your baby lead to diaper/baby stuff-related spam.

I am certainly not saying that it was right/good to send you spam (and it ISN'T ME, I promise!!), but I know at least a few people that would feel proud of themselves for sending what they would think is "helpful information" your direction, to meet a perceived need. Yes, a couple of them ought to be on medication, but that is beside my point.

And at least this spam isn't garbage asking you if you are looking for a "busty, young babe" or the like. Why the h*** do I get so much spam that is aimed at a male recipient? Do I look male to any of you? ;)

Oh Cutiepie ty so much for putting a smile on my face! I too get the "make your woman happy" spam for Viagra and Cialis lol. OK so an email addy that starts with hudson... may seem to be male dominant, but again I digress. If the person or persons would like to tell me that they are trying to assist me in my life and they are sending me an email for that purpose I would never have had a reason to make this post. So back to square one, I do not appreciate being solicited via my email address. *
by marjialexa 16 Nov 2008
Glad to see you, Cutiepie!! No, you look pretty female to me, especially with twins in your arms, hee hee hee. I get a lot of that stuff at Yahoo, too, always for men. Last I looked, I couldn't be "a god in bed" if I tried, hee hee hee. Very annoying, but some days funny. Do men actually respond to any of that stuff, are they really that silly? Amazing. Sorry you're getting spammed, Charlie, but I guess it' a way of life now. That's sad, really. Luv ya, Marji

I haven't had time to read many posts lately, so I just saw this. I find this type of thing absolutely disgusting and inconsiderate. Some people actually do this as a means of satisfying some perverse psychological need. What is disturbing is that these emails are apparently in response to specific comments made here. Just mark as spam and delete what you do not recognize, that is what I do. We need to accept that anyone can be on this site, and may be shocked if some were known. I do a lot of research that takes me all over the Internet, and some of what I see is almost unbelievable.

This sort of thing is my pet peeve.

I'm so sorry you are having a problem with people sending you hurtful comments... shame on them! The SPAM you are getting is from people gathering your email address where it's publicly listed. The emails are sent to loads of people, not just you, through mass mailings. That's a primary reason I don't post my email addy. The Federal Trade Commission explains that if you list an email addy you will always be a target for these scams. These SPAMmers often browse sites or join groups and use programs that look for addresses (they search for the '@' symbol or '.com' usually) and gather them all up and sell them to these people who don't care if you want their junk or not... it makes them just a few cents to send it to you so they send out thousands of them (Ever see the scam ads that say make $$$ using your computer at home???). I always try to have a link for a personal message at sites that have that. If nice people contact me I can then write them back if it's bad stuff I can tell the site admin.

As for the chain letters... ask those you know not to send them report the rest to their ISP. These emails are not only a waste of time but sometimes a means to use unsuspecting people to gather email addresses for SPAMmers. Emails saying things like if you forward on a letter some poor girl with cancer will get 50 cents from some big company are a farce! Similar emails tell you of some scary or shocking fact that you must tell others about... The people sending these to others are often being used and made fun of by scammers! When you must forward mail to several people use 'BCC' in the address or everyone gets the private emails of every one else! It's like a disease! If you ask people to stop and they don't report it to their ISP. They will then get a letter from them and if they do not stop they can lose their service. It's harsh but trying to wade through a zillion pieces of junk email are harsh too.

Also beware of people inviting you to join 'Grouply'. This is a scam by which you give a group your email addresses so they can manage your groups for you... AND you have to give them your passwords! Any decent group will ban people using this service and Yahoo groups moderator central has said in their opinion it is a breech of security to use this service because it allows outsiders to 'peep' into your groups without being a member. I just can;t imagine who in their right mind would give strangers their passwords??? Seems silly but it happens.

Remember NEVER ever reply to any junk mail or click on any attachment or link in a letter from someone you do not know.. Heck...just don't even open it! A lot of it is 'Phishing' and if you reply they then know your email is correct and will send you even more garbage even if you ask them to stop. Report it and delete it...

I am so sorry you have been hassled but don't take it personally.... it has happened to all of us at some point in time.
