and be here when they brought her back to the room. The Dr. was able to do the surgery with a spinal and not put her to sleep. Dr. said she did beautiful in surgery. I was so afraid she would not make it through surgery. I know her days are numbered, but she is a real fighter. I brought my lap top , but I won't be on much for a while. I would appreciate your little prayers.

Charlene, on my way up here, I was thinking that she would never come home, but now I am hopeful. my sister was up all night and she is asleep. I'm afraid if i go to sleep she Will pull her catheter out and all the wires on her chest and try to get up. I would have felt better if she had been placed in intensive care. After I drove all day, I am very tired. I came across the mountain I 40 with the afternoon sun in my eyes and wall to wall truckers, then I got lost here in Knoxville. Probably been 20 years since I have been to this hospital.

I'm trying so hard to stay awake. Every 2 hrs, her pain shot wares of and she starts thrashing around and I'm afraid she will pull everything loose. When she is at her home, my sister has caretaker all night with her.

Kay, dear one - what a trouper she is - isn't she - I know why you are worried and know that all you can do is be there - while you can - help calm her and let her know that you all are with her - more than anything she needs to know that you love her and that you will be there for her and allow her to let you know what she needs to assist her. My prayers for you and your family for acceptance of God's will for her. Unconditional Love, Shirlene

Poor baby, so sorry to hear about your mom. I know my mom was an R.N. while alive and she used to say it was hard to tell which happened first, the fall or the break. Those poor old bones sometimes just let go. A dear friend of mine stood up, had a stroke and BAM hit the floor hard. She's only 83, so bless your mom's heart. Be sure you get some rest before you try to drive very far, you can't help your mom if you're in the bed next to her! Best wishes for a speedy recovery and a long bright future.

Oh dear Katy, the magic word "she is a fighter" They will or should have her up today or tomorrow. Make sure they keep her turned at least every 2 hrs. Me I would do it every hr. She'll probably b walking again with support within the week, especially since they did not put her to sleep. Prayers r with u & her. sounds to me like u have an excellent surgeon. Wonder if Knoxville is where MM is having her test, I believe that would b the closest hosps. to her. If u can check.

Oh, bless her heart. And how lucky you are to still have your mother with you. My mother passed 12 days before her 97th b'day. She had fallen a few years prior and had to have the surgery, and actually did well with that, but it was Alzheimer's that took her from us. So glad that you got to be there with her.
