A BIG THANKYOU TO ALL THE VOLUNTEES WHO HELPED. My sympathy goes to the family who lost their son in the drain.

how did you cope, we have had to empty our rain tank 2 times wish we could give the water away and its full again ,our yard was about 2 feet deep lucky for us we still have a roof and no water inside
Many have lost every thing and the poor parents of that boy he and his mate were taking photos in the drain. how are our other Queensland people going

I live in Nt Queensland now last february mackay had a flash flood,we were OK lots of people here are still living with friends and family,as you know rebuilding takes time and money. I lived in Brisbane when they had the 1974 floods .My fist baby was dew and lost everything in the floods.

Oh wow! I had to go and google that to get the information. I hadn't heard. The article said it was the worst in about 25 years and compared the damage to that of a cyclone! My best wishes for all of you that have to now deal with the aftermath of this storm!

Thank you for posting this, Toet. I live about 100km from Brisbane, it has been raining everyday, but fortunatelly, nothing bad around here. I came from a country that has many earthquakes and thyphoons a year, so I feel so sorry for all their losses.

hi, pleased to hear that you are ok,you need the rain so badly,i have heard that the dams are less than 40% full. Hopefully help and shelter comes quickly to the people that lost their homes. It is especially hard for the people that lost all their family photographs.
by sherylac 18 Nov 2008
Yes it would be the worst part, loosing your photos, and yes are dams are very low but, they have been alot lower and we are on water restrictions and have been for awhile

Yikes! I haven't been watching the news (not that we hear much about Australia here), I didn't know about this storm. I hope you are all ok and the cleanup goes well. Too much water all at once is definitely not a good thing. Best and brightest thoughts, and lots of hugs to you all!! Marji
