stood. The courtyard of Fortess of Antonia, the main street going out of the city & and the synogague at Capernaum. These are proved sites of the time. Saw too much to even tell about. Long days but glorious days. Prayed at the Wailing Wall, had communion in the Tomb Garden, took a boat across the Sea of Galilee, saw the few remaining trees that grew in the Garden where Jesus prayed, and so much more! Yes, I did dip my hand in the River Jordan & the Sea of Galilee & waded in the Dead Sea.
Thank you for your prayers for safety...I could tell people were praying! Gerry

I am an only time 35mm user! BUT am having a CD made of the pictures. Will post a few when I get them back. I did take a few with my little digital and have those ready. BUT where should I post them? I can't figure out how to post a photo here on the "personal" spot!

Oh how marvelous, to actually be able to see all these things, to walk where Jesus walked, to feel what u must have felt. It must have been grand, glorious & humbling. I am so glad u got to do all of this gerry.

Oh, Gerry, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! Wasn't it surprising to find the courtyard of Antonia in a basement? We forget it's a living city, and that 2000 years ago is often 20 feet down. Isn't Jerusalem fabulous? Ah, you're making me 'homesick' now!! And those ancient olive trees in Gethsemane, I hadn't known olives were so long-lived, to think that Jesus might have been under one of those very trees! I'm so very happy for you, to have been able to see all you saw. My best hugs, Marji

Marji, our guide told us there were either 5 or 7 (my mind's boggled still) trees that were over 2000 yrs. old in the garden. They had just quite putting out or anything & appeared dead. When the Jews came back to Israel in 1948 (I think!) the trees began to produce again! I will post a picture soon of one of the trees! And to see "the desert bloom" was unreal!

Here are a few Israel pictures. See my reply below about the trees. Our guide (and the guide at the Garden) said it is fairly certain this is the tomb due to the location & all the other proof pointing to this tomb. But the important part is it is EMPTY! From the plan you see the tomb was never finished..only one spot was finished.
