Good Q I have quite a few scraps also. I know that someone has some terrific ideas to share. You know that cute snowman pin someone posted I will have to find the link. Instead of cosmetic puffs and fleece I bet we could use felt. Also I played with the idea of using it for like trapunto, where you place fabric under the design to make it puff out. That style of embroidery has a video at emblibrary.

What You'll Need
• Freezer paper
• Wool felt: dark red, bright red, light red, and moss green
• Three 3/8-inch-diameter ivory pearl beads
• Sewing thread to match moss green felt
• Polyester fiberfill
• Glue gun and hotmelt adhesive
• Antique brass drapery clip ring





How to Make It
1. Cut the felt. Position the freezer paper, shiny side down, over the patterns in the Pattern Pack. Trace the patterns the number of times indicated. Cut out the shapes on the traced lines.
2. Using an iron, press a freezer-paper shape, shiny side down, onto the front of the respective fabric; let cool. Cut out the shape along the pattern edges. Peel off the freezer paper.
3. Arrange the petals. Center the dark red petal section on one moss green circle. Place the bright red petal section on top and then turn the section clockwise so that all eight petal points are visible. Repeat with the light red section, turning the petals until there are 12 points visible.
4. Sew the beads to the center of the poinsettia assembly.
5. Sew the ornament. Stack and pin the ornament top on the back. Use a 1/4-inch seam allowance to sew around the circle, leaving a 3-inch opening for stuffing. Stuff with fiberfill and sew the opening closed.
6. Place a small dot of hot glue on the back of each light red petal tip and press the petals to the background. For a hanger, attach a drapery clip ring to the circle.

I think you should butt 2 pieces together and use the "fancy" stitch on your sewing machine to connect the pieces to make like a crazy quilt. After you get enough pieces together you can use it as a placemat. Cut into whatever shape you like:)

There are some cute christmas ornaments this week from Embroidery Library - white and red felt hearts with little snowmen embroidered on them. They are quite cute. It's one of the pictures on the 'story of Christmas that keeps changing'. Otherwise, when my girls were at preschool we were always grateful for things like that for the children to use for collage etc.

What about some in the hoop santa sacks :) great way to use up scraps

I just have another idea. Small minature Christmas stockings. Put a small candy cane in and distribute them to a childrens ward in hospital or maybe to a nursing home. I think that is what I will do with mine. flower for you
