Hi Elaine, I was at a seminar a few weeks ago and they demonstrated this machine, They told us that is does 4 types of sewing, sewing, embroidery, quilting and crafting. The technology in this machine is fantastic, even if you put your fabric in crooked, this machine will centre the design for you. And from what I can make out, you hardly do any sewing, even down to help feed your fabric through. Then it was selling for $8,999.00 and I am in Australia. And there are also outlets on the left hand side that at the moment there is nothing to connect to them----yet! that is, or maybe you can connect your kettle to them hahahaha if you wish to know anything else, if I can remember you are welcome to email me
