If I am correct that is close to our burlap in the US and is VERY loosly woven large strands. You could probably us a heavy cut-away or several layers of a med weight, but you would have to use care with your design choice. I would think you may have more luck with applique on that type of material. Sorry, I can't tell you any more or with more surety.;)

thank you - I want a 'rustic' look so I may sew design out onto caliaco
9muslin I think in USA) ,fray edges then attach to hissian . Thanks for your help- minicow
