I hand embroidered this apron over 38 years ago. I remember by DH helping me trace the pattern onto the material that was taped to our picture window. lol. What a project. I don't remember how long it took me to embroider, but I know it was many months. Since I set up my sewing room I decorated my dress form with it and also put all my pins I have saved over the years around the waist band and some on the bib. Would be nice to tackel this apron with my machine embroidery now. Also take a look at the border on the wall behind the dress form. I used yard sticks! My husband also put a small wood border around them so they looked finished. I love the look.

Thank you Shirlene. This was in the days before embroidery machines. hahahahaha. Yes I do want to try it on the machine. The wall border does look nice. Everyone that sees it really loves it.

Then we seemed to make time for elaborate projects like that, although I never embroidered an apron like this. It's stunning! And it makes quite a statement in your sewing room. I like that yardstick border, compliments to your DH. Flower for sharing this beautiful project.

How beautiful! And it sure looks like it took some time to complete that. I have never been a fan of hand embroidery - did not have the patience to do it - And I love the way you have it displayed.
