Many, many years ago, I saw a New Home demo (before being called Janome - shows you how long ago!!). The lady used her bobbin winder on the machine to do what you are describing. It's quite foggy now as to how she did this - I'm thinking she took her two threads, wrapped them around the empty bobbin, fed them through one of the bobbin holes, and started slowly winding the empty bobbin, twisting the threads in the process. This would only work with shorter lengths of thread, because it doesn't go onto the bobbin itself, but rather hangs outside the bobbin. Mind you, this has not been tested!!! I'm going from a 20 year memory, but you might want to give it a try with 2 regular threads first!
