Last night we watched a program on TV with a brain specialists. He says that the way to be healthier and happier is to feed your brain. In doing so he says to be a positive person (no brainer). By writing down 5 things every day you are thankful for, you start your brain to learn in a positive way. When you think about bad or negative things depressions becomes more pronounced by feeding positive thoughts, your brain learns, and by learning you create more cells. Do puzzles, sudoko, games, family gatherings, and friends getting together causes the brain to have to think. Thinking and learning causes cell growth. When you get down, you do not have a chance for your brain to produce enough cells to replace the ones that have died. This causes aging, hence more aches. Depression becomes more intense. Excercise also stimulates the brain. So the next time you feel depressed, go to your list rewrite new GOOD THANKFUL THINGS...VISIT A FRIEND/FRIENDS...HAVE FAMILY TOGETHER...OR DO SOMETHING YOU USE TO LOVE DOING. We should always be active in some way even when we don't feel like it. Many happy and warm thoughts to all of you...May your Christmas be plain and simple so that you do not stress over unimportant issues and you relax in warmth and love.....

this is wonderful, I do try to keep active in the brain ... sewing keeps me from walking to much... but I should with the dogs... I do my sudoko every morning and am pretty good at it.. it is some thing that I look for in the paper every day, one time it was missing from the paper and I guess they got my call plus many others.. they put two in the next day, funny.. all the ladies and gents at this site are just wonderful, I have you on the computer all day long.. Blessed Holidays to All.. Kathy

remember it is just not on your own. The specialist says that when there are more around you, you have to think to socialize, thus stimulating the mind. He has to have some truth, because GOD di npot intend for us to be alone....

Thanks for this reminder. I can tick off a few of the things. My DH and I try to walk down to the beach every day with our dog, but usually get it right 4 out of 7 days. We also both enjoy doing crosswords and Sudukos. Wishing you a happy and stress-free holiday. *4U
