Dear Meganne, mine was a 2, but I choose to have a double mastectomy for peace of mind. I know how you feel, I been there, and you have my email, please if you want to know what is next, email me and I will tell you. The way I had look at cancer is that sometime God send us good gifts, some time we get bad gifts, than in the long run were BETTER for us, well this is one of those gifts, because it will bring you so close to HIM, you now will think I am crazy, but you will see. This is not the end, it is just part of your life and you will be OK, for whatever you need, I am here. Just be strong you will be fine before you know it, yes you do have some rough days ahead but you will make it.Praying for you, Hugs.

Please forgive me dear Cute family, if I don't get to answer everyone in person, just know that I have read and cherish every single message of love and support, that each one of you have taken precious time to write to me.

Today is my youngest niece's 35th Birthday and I am hoping to spend a couple of hours with my Sister and her family tomorrow for a little Birthday lunch. But of course I still have to finish making her Birthday card ('cause I always seem to leave things 'til the last minute. LOL)

I have medical appointments all this coming week, in the lead-up to Friday or Monday's Surgery.

I still have nothing planned for Christmas as we were going to have our family get together on the 20th and seeing as I don't yet know which day my OP will be, we've had to just let it hang in mid air until we know for sure.

And of course, as usual I have left everything until the last minute, thinking I would have plenty of time next week to round up everything all in one exciting shopping spree, (since I didn't have my machine to make anything). Told you I leave everything until the last minute! LOL!!!!

Now I've just gone through my dresser drawers and discovered I don't have any PJ's suitable for wearing after breast surgery..... So i'll have to do some quick shopping or sewing so I won't get arrested for indecent exposure. ;-0

And since I'm going to lose my hair later anyway I may as well give myself another clip before my forced holiday, it certainly will save me worrying about having to coiff my hair... LOL!!

I left a message for my son that I want a wig for Christmas, you know the type, bright orange or yellow fuzzy hair like the clowns wear!

I may even buy one and wear it into theatre to break down any sombre mood of the doctors and nurses.
My surgeon was extremely upset when she delivered the news, probably because, being the comedienne that I am, all our previous visits had been (professional) but fun. I ended up giving her a hug before we left, i've been a messenger, of bad tidings, many times and i just hated it when I used to get shot. :-}} So i thought my colourful wig might let her see i haven't let it affect my sense of humour and it's all good.
Well friends, a pair of scissors is waiting for me and many BC books to read and forms to be filled out
So I hope you will please understand that I will try and check in here but just may not be able to keep up with all the replies as much as I would dearly love to.
I love you all and I acknowledge you all as some of the most beautiful friends and family i have ever had the profound pleasure of knowing.
hugs n roses, Meganne

Oh, Meg! I'm sorry to hear about your difficult diagnosis. But I know the power of the prayers from this list (the twins are both crawling now, with nary a setback in sight) so I know that you are going to be well-taken care of. I'm adding my prayers to the rest of the group.

My mom is going into her fifth year post-cancer/mastectomy, and you may be like her. She didn't lose her hair at all, and actually some of the grays reverted back to dark. The chemo is nasty, and I'll be sending tons of extra hugs to help you through that. She said to me that if you are going to want reconstruction, have it done at the same time as the mastectomy since then there will still be all the skin left to cover the prostheses. She didn't do that, and they had to "stretch" her skin to make room. She doesn't want anyone to have to do that, if it can be helped! Of course, she is now regretting that she had the reconstruction done because (in her own words), "I could forget that I was wearing the prosthetic forms, but I'm ALWAYS aware of the implants."

Good luck, peace be with you and your family, and remember that we all love you!
