I have 2 (Rosie chewed up my 3rd one years ago), but ...I would love to make some... this time for GM. She made ME the other 3. xoxo

Yes, my daughter has all 3 of her sock monkeys from the early 70's made by MY aunt who died many years ago. They are treasured! I have seen the socks in different mail order, one being Home-Sew Inc. They are in Pa, USA. Have a web site listed below. Also have an 800 number you can call (1-800-344-4739). They often have free shipping and there's a coupon in my lastest book for $2 off shipping. The number is P6920 and expires 3/31/09. IF you mail your order, you have to enclose the coupon, otherwise just tell them the number. The socks are 2 pr. for $11.25 if you want to compare prices at WalMart. I have used HomeSew for years and always been happy with them. HOpe this helps!

This is good to know. Thanks for asking. I have always loved sock monkeys. Target has sock monkey footed pjs. So cute :)

I could not find them locally, but the ones from the sockmonkey company were very high quality and durable.

My husband was recently cleaning out a cabinet that we keep our pictures in and guess what he found stuffed in there! Yes it was a grey verison of the sock monkey.

Gee, I never had one or made one - lol. LQQKs like you got a few good answers here, however.

If you watch the videos on HGTV/Carol Duvall Show there are other "animals" to make besides the monkey. You can start your own ZOO:)

Let me guess - is Rosie a Lab? I hope you can find the socks. I haven't looked for them, but thought of making my DG one since she is so into monkies. Hope to see yours posted in the projects.
