When or how often do you take your machine in for a cleaning? ;)

I take mine once a year. Costly, but not as costly as a repair! Do try to keep the lint out of the bobbin area, but can't reach all the areas inside. AND what are you doing up at this hour!! I know, Sat. tomorrow and no work??

Hmm, good question. I have never taken mine in for a cleaning as yet. I suppose I should be then. I do give it an oil once a week and keep the bobbin area clean......

I usualy take my machine in at least once a year - for cleaning - if I am having any sort of trouble that I can not fix - I will take it in - just becasue I want it to work for me - at all times - Hehehe! How often do you take your machine in for a cleaning?

Mine goes in for a service Once a year or when I have done about 500 hours work which ever comes first Had it serviced in late September and had to have it oiled beginning December. Just like a car The more you use it the more often it needs servicing

Well, I have a big industrial machine, so it doesn't go out for cleaning, I clean her where she is , but my mom just took hers in (after 5 years) and the shop told her she should be bringing it in once a year. You can only imagine how badly it needed cleaning by then! :)

according to my lady that sold me my machine, as long as I keep it cleaned after each use I should be good for up to 5 years. With the husqvarna the more you use it the better it works and you're not suppposed to oil anything on it yourself. I did get the little vacuum attachment and suck that sucker out whenever I'm doing the rest of the house and then clean it everday after use.

Most newer machines don't need oiling. In fact, our repair man at the Viking store says not to oil it...USE it!

My machine gets looked at yearly at the shop it came from. Its a good excuse for a day out as a friend takes her machine too. We have quite a journey, probably 2 hrs each way. We usually stock up on supplies too. When you consider the cost of the machines in the first place I see it as essential.
