I have a bernette 340 DECOby Bernina. It is only an embroidery machine with the free arm. It is a very husky machine. I have had it for about 1 1/2 years.

The semi-industrials like the 6-needle Brother and the 4-needle Melco and Janome have a free arm. Nice for sleeves, trouser legs, and so on, especially if you have the Quick Snaps frames as well.
