Place the shoes onto some newspaper and trace around them allowing for seams and also a stitched divider in between [{}I{}] type of thing use this as a pattern allow for seams top including turn over for drawstring and botton seam. really easy hope this helps :)

I have done the same as nurselilly except I didn't stitch the divider. I found it easier to pack them in my suitcase when placing the shoes together - face to face. This doesn't take up quite so much room in the case.*4U.

Thanks for the great question. I think I may venture into the shoe bag making, sounds fairly easy.

YEARS ago I had some shoe bags and it was TWO smaller bags. This works well as sometimes you don't have enough room to put both shoes together, but can tuck one here and another there! They were made out of a sorta stretchy material so any size would fit into it.

I made some shoe bags years ago - not embroidered - just the way nurselily suggested, taking a pair of shoes and folding a piece of paper around it, giving it some slack. Now I often use one of them to put underwear in.

Hi emily I did shoe bags for nieces this Christmas and they were quick and simple used these red work shoe designs there are 15 designs (they were freebies) so had lots of choice. I used the faux suede in the grey color which made them neutral. I have done other bags for our square dancer friends usually about 12" across turn down at the top around 3" and then two stitchings around the top edge for the drawstring first one 1" from top edge and second 1" below that. I recently saw some on the internet and they were made to be 14" X 18". I am going to try them at that size.
