this is a pic of my first quilt, I have just finished it, every square is filled and no two are the same.. The roses are all different colors and many or the other blocks are actually free designs. I have had so much fun with this and i know i will be making another one soon. it was a huge learning curve as i even had to learn how to hide an hole in the main fabric when the machine had a tantrum. a first time for applique work and again it was fun to try out and then next project is to try out the patchwork xmas boots in the hoop. thank you all for teh wonderfull sites you have found for me to have fun with without you all i would not have found so many wonderfull dragons and witches

I really like how you divided the blocks intonthe squares. Nice job.....
i then grided the one half into five inch squares. i found a simple rose outline and put one into every other block changeing direction of the flowers on each diagonal row and makeing sure every rose was a different color, the wording weas created useing a tiny free font frome skeldale house. it is not too dence and does not cause any problems and sits inside the frames nicely to give a very personal touch. each grid line was sewn out first useing s decorative stitch on my machine the two halves of the quilt were attached to each other useing a small heart at the intersection of each grid line.
my freind trades under " Dragon rose " so this seemed a good subject for her, it is now parceled up and wil be posted to her tomorrow. We have never met and most likely never will but we are good freinds and more like sisters.
hope this explains how i created it
