Some people always download the colour charts, I usually don't but choose my own. Sometimes I download the picture for easy reference. but I never change the colours in my software, just lay out the colours I like in the required order.

I'd be interested n this ans. also, cause I always have to go to embird & change the colors. I have a babylock Ellegante & Pes is my format also. * Of course I wind up using whatever color threads I have. I never have all the threads they name unless it only uses a few colors.

having the same problem sometimes,in that case it's easy if there's a colorchart. But mostly I look on the machine what part will be embroidered and search the color for what i think it has to be.:) By the way, I have brother too.

Don't worry about it just do like others and choose your own colours anyway. I have a Brother 4000D and use Isafil reels so its a big job to change the colour palatte.

I have an Ellageo and it does this sometimes especially from designs from Embroidery Library. They say this will happen with some of their designs but I don't know how to stop it. I look at the color picture and make changes if necessary.

Do you use the thread exchange on Emblibrary? I use that as I don't use Madeira thread. I use ARC thread It makes it a lot easier.

I believe it depends upon what software you have and the colors that are stored there. Also you may have your thread colors set up for a different brand than was used for the design. In that case your software is trying to match up unknown colors. Experiment a bit with the download formats of those that your machine/software recognizes. Some formats download more true colors than others.

I found the answer if you save the color chart for the design in a text file with the exact same name as the design - Embird will pick it up (or you can load it in using the color palette - load command). I tried it out on my "sweet design" I bought from EmbroideryLibrary and it worked!!!! My kitten design - has the correct color fur now.

I know what you mean. I have a blue/grey&yellow duckling in my library, but and this is the important bit, use your artistic talents and choose the colours you wish to embroider in, don't feel you're tied to the designer's colour choice. They won't be offended, just look at all the photo pages on designers web sites. Good luck.
